Daniel Gray is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent (1811) and former Air Force OSI Special Agent. A lifelong martial artist and founder of PeriReflex Combatives, he developed the Peripheral Instinctive Response (P.I.R.) training method to give officers and civilians a practical, mobile alternative to ground-focused solutions. He holds advanced black belts in karate and jujitsu and has additional training in American boxing, Jeet Kune Do (JKD), and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A former certified FBI Defensive Tactics instructor, he has taught SWAT personnel, street agents, and members of the FBI’s elite counterterrorism Fly Team. He is a 1992 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), where he captained the karate team, and holds a master’s degree in Human Relations Psychology from the University of Oklahoma.
